hi Roy!! hope today is treating you better, although I know it might not have started great. I feel like I've rewritten this a hundred times because being overly familiar with people on the internet feels Wuh-heeird! but also, I don't want to be dishonest or say something insincere. Truth is, I reread your "the pain will become interesting" essay often when my hypochondria gets really bad and it's been a godsend. So thank you! I should clarify I don't fear being disabled. I fear losing the things I've seen you grieve very openly about, and I'm sorry. I wish it were different. I wish life didn't mean losing things, even though I know that's a big part of it. I've said before that quite selfishly I hope you're here for a long time, which I still feel, but I want you to know that when you do go I will understand. And I will have been better for knowing you. Which I realize online is not the same as "being friends" but it has meant a lot. If we could switch places for a day and you'd be able to feel the sun or the Mississippi river on your fingertips I would gladly do so. Sorry for writing so much. Much love to you, brother.

your art is so wonderfully inspiring.. it inspired me to start reading about expressionism and abstract art and generally just. start relearning about art and art practice from books and lectures rather than relying on my rusty memories of college art teachings. and read about cartooning and comics! i love how you portray interactions between characters via both dialogue and visual action. been trying lots of stuff in my sketchbook inspired by how you write and visualize conversations and its helping me a lot with figuring and making sense of the inner dialogue that goes on between my parts. newly figuring out my plurality situation and drawing it all out has done wonders for me also love getting to hear your music recs they are all so wonderful. i greatly enjoy hearing your perspective on lots of different things especially disability. has changed my perspective on life a lot (for the better). all the best to you right now and in the future forever. lets all live
